A fully-loaded tanker truck carrying a load of liquid sugar experienced brake failure as it attempted to stop for an intersection in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The driver was unable to negotiate the intersection’s turn. The crash caused the truck to strike a utility pole and roll over on its side. The driver was uninjured, but a small amount of liquid sugar leaked from the tank. Liquid sugar is highly concentrated sugar and is used in soft drinks. The driver was ticketed for failure to stop and inadequate brakes. The driver was also told to check his sugar levels.
