It is true that men are willing to ignore a brake problem longer then women, but this crash takes the cake. Police arrested a man they say caused a crash by driving a vehicle that he knew did not have working brakes.
Jamestown Police were called to West 8th Street at Monroe for a two-vehicle accident. Officers determined Jason Burger, 28, of Jamestown was driving a 1995 Chevy Tahoe that had no working brakes to a scrap yard and he failed to stop at the sign on Monroe.
Burger told them he had disconnected the battery before coasting down a hill to get to a nearby scrap yard. Police say he also told them the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe had no brakes.
Burger’s vehicle was hit by Wayne Paulisick, who was taken to WCA Hospital following the accident.
Burger was arrested and is charged with second degree reckless endangerment, inadequate brakes and failing to stop at a stop sign. He was being held on bail in the city jail.
