An English couple is thanking their lucky stars after they escaped without injury when their Audi A4 lost its brakes traveling down a steep hill this morning.
According to the Cornish Guardian the vehicle lost it’s brakes at the summit of the hill, and by the halfway point the car had already overturned, trapping them both inside.
Three fire vehicles from surrounding towns went to the scene at the bottom of hill, just up the street from the busy harbor area of the neighboring village.
The car ended up on the driver’s side and the fire personnel had to use precise cutting equipment to get the couple out.
Paramedics were on the scene and treated the driver. The couple did not have to be taken to hospital.
“It was a miracle they did not appear to suffer any injury, and very lucky people were not in the immediate area when it rolled away,” said one person who saw the aftermath.
