Bad things happen when drivers take chances with bad brakes, throw in a mountain pass and a trailer, and brake failure is inevitable. This is what happened to a driver in Cedar City, Utah when he tried to go down Parowan Canyon.
According to the Saint George News and Utah Highway Patrol, the brakes on the late 1990s Chevrolet Suburban were “super thin” at the time of the crash. But, the driver pushed he luck when he decided to attach a trailer.
When the brakes failed, the driver decided to put the truck and trailer into the embankment instead of going off the side of a cliff. When the Utah Highway Patrol showed up the driver was issued a citation for faulty brakes.
The driver was lucky this time, so were the other drivers on Route 143.
