CRASH: 120 MPH Brake Failure at Brazilian Truck Racing Event

Brazilian Super Truck driver Diumar Bueno had the brakes on his Super Truck fail during a practice session at 120mph. Bueno was able to scrub off some speed by driving on the grass. The truck plowed through the concrete barrier like a snow plow going through a snow bank.

Despite his 120mph speed and 45ft flight, reports suggest that Bueno ‘only’ suffered two broken legs and an arm.

A Super Truck weighs almost 5.5 tons and stops with large water cooled disc brakes. When these trucks crash, it is usually spectacular, but they can damage the circuit and possibly compromise the safety of the spectator. This is probably when this awesome form of motorsport has never made it into the US.
