BRAKE RETRO: “I Bumped My Head on Daddy’s Dashboard”

This ad is from 1953 and uses three forbidden elements of advertising, blood, children and fear. In the 1950s, the number of friction formulations within a brake line was very limited and there was no such thing as “application specific”. The “friction sets” were determined what supplier was used, Bendix, Wagner, Moraine, etc. Often a formulation would work on one vehicle, but on a lighter vehicle it would be grabby.
