Brake Failure Crash In Africa: Good Thing Toto Wasn’t There

A gruesome crash taking place in Durban, South Africa earlier this month resulted in massive death toll of twenty-two. This appalling crash happened after an 18 wheeler ran a red light due to “brake failure” and rammed into a monumental amount of vehicles at one of Durban’s most populated intersections.

Paramedics had arrived at the crash site to find people and vehicle debris scattered across the scene. Witnesses told reporters how people were flung from their vehicles as they were hit and then heinously dragged by the truck.

Currently, several South African political parties have sent their condolences to the families of the 22 people confirmed dead. According to dailymail.co.uk, this accident adds to the recent list of fatal crashes in the area that have claimed over 60 lives in the past two weeks. Among the dead were a group of girls who had been travelling back after taking part in the Annual Reed Dance in Nongoma, KZN.

This event is truly horrific and eye-opening for the victims in South Africa and people all over the world. Immense crashes like the one that occurred in Durban are prime examples of why getting your brakes checked is so crucial to everyone’s safety. Maybe if this driver was a little more responsible with his truck and the maintenance of his brakes, those lives could of been saved.
