No one was injured when a 18-wheeler collided with a train Wednesday morning in south Houston County.
It happened around 10:20 on Highway 247.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the truck driver said the accident happened because his brakes failed, rendering his feet powerless to stop the 18 wheeled behemoth.
He said he swerved to avoid a row of trucks ahead of him, crossed the road and ultimately ended up striking the train.
Norfolk Southern Railroad says the crash caused some, but minor damage to one of the rail cars.
The section of roadway was closed for about three hours, while the truck was removed. It was said to be carrying frozen chicken.
