Door County Advocate reports Carol A. Shabbit  was traveling north on Wisconsin 57 approaching the intersection with Wisconsin 42 when her 1999 Pontiac failed to stop for the stop sign. According to a Door County Sheriff’s Department accident report, Shabbit’s car went through the intersection and off the right side of the road, striking a barricade, village street sign, and eventually utility guide wire.

The officer checked the brakes following the crash and found they were not functioning properly. No one was injured in the crash.

Identifying information was obtained from the report by the sheriff’s department. Her age and address were determined from prior online records.
