No Jules, this isn’t an act of God. This is a warning from God!
A Indiana woman told police she let ‘God take the wheel’ when she ran over a motorcyclist and crashed into a pickup truck on July 11th, in Fort Wayne.
The woman was charged in court last Thursday for failing to stop after an accident, criminal recklessness and two counts of criminal mischief.
According to reports, they found the woman casually eating at a restaurant after the accident, almost as if nothing had even happened. She told them that she was driving along normally on Jefferson Boulevard near Jackson Street in Fort Wayne, when “out of nowhere God told her that He would take it from here and she let go of the wheel and let Him take it.”
As soon as she let go of the steering wheel, her Pontiac slammed into the back of a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, striking the motorist to the ground.
But Hill, or God, or Science or whoever was operating the vehicle wasn’t done with him yet. When the stricken motorist looked up, he saw the front end of the Pontiac staring him in the face.
But luckily, the car did not crush his head, but instead rolled over his midsection leaving the man with several broken ribs, a lacerated spleen and bleeding kidney. He also suffered several deep scrapes to his skin.
The driver tested negative for alcohol, but police did not run an extensive toxicology test. She claimed to have been prescribed to Vicodin but wasn’t using it at the time of the crash.
She also noted there was nothing physically wrong with the car and she even ‘tried’ to stop before hitting the motorcyclist.
