Volvo is recalling all of its 2019-2020 model year vehicles due to a problem in the vehicles’ automated emergency braking system, which could prevent the system from braking as expected.
According to Car and Driver, Volvo is recalling 121,605 vehicles in the United States from the 2019 and 2020 model years, including every model it sells in the U.S. including the S60 and the 2020 S60 Polestar Engineered, V60, V60 Cross Country, S90L, V90, V90 Cross Country, XC40, XC60, and XC90.
According to the NHTSA recall report, the problem is missing software code, which will be remedied through an update to the Active Safety Domain Master (ASDM) software at no charge to the customer. There have been no reports of accidents or injuries to date, Volvo said.
