A chain-reaction crash occurred last Tuesday in Wisconsin after a U-Haul experienced brake failure, crashed into a parked SUV, and sent the same SUV flying into the window of an Arby’s.
The U-Haul pushed the SUV up and over an ice machine and into the window frame of the Arby’s, and as a result four people were transported to area hospitals.
The man sitting in the SUV, who was from Racine Wisconsin, was taken to the hospital along with two men in the U-Haul from Illinois, and one man who was sitting in the restaurant enjoying his meal at the time of the crash, authorities say.
None of them had major injuries.
Following the crash, the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to investigate and investigators learned all the brake fluid had leaked out of the U-Haul, said Lt. Gary Larsen of the Caledonia Police Department.
The U-Haul driver was leaving the gas pumps and tried to push the brakes, but he was unable to stop, Larsen said.
As of late Wednesday afternoon, Larsen said no one had been ticketed for the accident.
