One organization that still believes in training is Tenneco. Their Technology Tour and Ride-and-Drive training takes about four hours and is a good mix of technical training and sales pitch. The best part of the training is being able to drive vehicles with new and degraded shocks and struts. It will make a believer out of you. The Tenneco trainers do a great job of showing how the brake system and chassis system are connected.
The program features technical training, diagnostics and selling skills related to automotive ride control, emissions control systems and brakes. Monroe’s certified suspension instructors help participants learn how to explain to consumers the value of ride control replacement. Between tour stops and throughout the year, Monroe field training professionals and sales team members provide on-site technical education in hundreds of additional locations like automotive technical schools and a variety of industry events.
There are ten dates this summer and I highly recommend attending a session.
