The 2014 Corvette brakes uses unique rotors that are made by Brembo. The rotors have an aluminium hat and a cast iron brake surface. But, these “two-piece” rotors do use fasteners to secure the hat to the rotor. Instead, they use a proprietary casting process that combine the two pieces when the iron is poured.
These rotors have been in the field for the past few years on cars like the Cadillac CTS-V and the Maserati Quattroporte.
