PAW PAW, MI– The investigation of the after-school crash that killed two young Niles girls and injured their sistercontinues, and the brakes of the car in which the girls were riding are being checked.
The driver, the babysitter of the girls, who had picked them up from school minutes before the Sept. 11 crash, “indicated there were some brake issues,” said Michigan State Police crash reconstructionist Sgt. Jim Campbell of the District Headquarters in Paw Paw. Mechanical tests on the car continue, he said.
