NIGERIA- A pregnant mother of five was crushed to death yesterday after a runaway tanker slammed into her while she was working as a city street sweeper.

The Nigeria Leadership reports that the woman’s legs were completely crushed following the accident and she died of blood loss at a nearby hospital. Her unborn baby was also killed in the accident.

The witness who preferred to stay anonymous said as the tanker went rampant, it also damaged another car on the road.

He said the driver attempted to escape from the scene after the vehicle stopped but was apprehended by some good Samaritans before he was handed over to the local police.
