A truck carrying reams of paper went up in flames last night in Westfield, Massachusetts after the left rear brake caught fire and ignited the load.
The Westfield Police department says fire crews responded to Ampad Rd. at 11:19 p.m. to find flames taking over the truck in a local parking lot.
Fortunately, the driver was able to get out safely and no one was injured, but the fire continued into the cab. Police say the driver tried to detach the cab from the trailer, but was unsuccessful.
The truck belongs to B&L Transports and Logistics, a company out of Indiana. They will be responsible for organizing a tow truck for the burned skeleton of the tractor trailer. So far there have been no arrests made are charges filed. The influence of drugs and alcohol were ruled out as factors as well.
