According to Express News, 2 people are dead and 50 others injured after a coach bus carrying over 60 people experienced brake failure and crashed into a wall this morning in Cornwall, UK.
Eyewitnesses said they saw the driver attempting to regain control of the steering wheel right before the coach turned onto its side, which ultimately blew out all the windows and reduced the bus to a metal mass.
Three air ambulances, six land ambulances, five police rapid response vehicles and a hazardous response vehicle were sent with fire crews to assist and treat the victims of the crash. Spectators say the bus was “full of old people” and even some kind souls were “rushing around making tea for them”.
A 69 year old resident of the neighborhood, who did not want to be named, said: “Amazingly there have been no accidents on the road till this.
We’ve been waiting for something like this to happen for a while.
The road is quite bendy, and can be tricky, particularly for big vehicles.
I think that part, where I think the accident was, it particularly tricky.”
Police added: “The road has been closed and is expected to remain so for some time.”
