Brake Failure: We Didn’t (Want To) Start The Fire

A vehicle traveling down a California highway almost unknowingly caused a tremendous forest fire yesterday morning. Several people using the road dialed 911 at about 10:50 a.m. to report small fires on both sides of the highway. The fires were separated, with three on each side.

According to reports, the offending vehicle was suffering from acute brake failure due to a mass amount friction between the brake discs and the calipers. The friction emitted so many sparks, that it actually started multiple fires. How do you not notice something like that?

Local police say they are considering themselves fortunate that this didn’t happen in June. If this would occurred then instead of now, you would be hearing all about a huge forest fire burning through acres of land in California. Funny how things work out.

The driver of the vehicle was never found.
