A three-vehicle accident that occurred on Friday in New York was allegedly due to brake failure.
Ellen D. Waschevski, 62, was heading east in the city at about 12:15 p.m. when she said she tried to slow down because the car in front of her had stopped. Unfortunately, Ellen did not stop but continued forward and slammed into the back of a car driven by Fawn A. Hoener. The force from the rear-ending was so great, that it caused a chain-reaction of cars and sent Mrs.Hoener in to the back of a pickup truck just a few meters ahead.
Luckily, nobody was injured in the accident. But unfortunately for Ellen, she was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Do you think Ellen deserves this citation? Was it really her fault that the brakes had failed? Leave your comments below.
