Durban,South Africa- A man died on Tuesday after his car went off a bridge and plunged into a river due to brake failure, despite a valiant effort by paramedics who scrambled to the river to save him. Robert McKenzie from Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) stated when they noticed the car was half submerged, they immediately realized they were the driver’s only hope of survival. Rescue workers retrieved the driver from the wreck and treated him on the river bank. An advanced life-support paramedic also tried to resuscitate the man but unfortunately to no avail.
