Rock Hill, SC- A woman by the name of Erin Hope reported to Action 9 News after realizing her local mechanic did an sub-par job replacing her old brakes. Hope, a wife and mother of three explained to reporters that she went to Meineke in Rock Hill to get the replacement and immediately after noticed that her brand new brakes weren’t working correctly.
“Before I even left the parking lot, I could feel something wasn’t right. I was having to push my foot almost to the floor,” Hope said.
Following this realization, Hope pulled right back into the store to “get them fixed” once again. She later went on to explain that she ended up visiting the same shop three more times over the course of the week to deal with the brake issue.
After three times, Hope had finally had enough and decided to take her minivan to the Goodyear shop down the road. She said mechanics told her the brakes were bad. So she paid Goodyear to redo the work, costing her a whopping $175.
Hope says she would of rather have gotten the refund from Meineke prior to getting her brakes fixed at Goodyear, but she didn’t want to risk driving a second longer with her faulty brakes.
When the owner of Meineke was confronted by the local news, he replied that he tries hard to keep every customer and that he stands by his service, and also will give Hope a full refund, even though he feels he did nothing wrong.
