For the small town of Kittanning, Pennsylvania, they don’t often see many obscure vehicular crashes. But at about 4:30 P.M on their historic town bridge, a two car accident involving a city ambulance occurred resulting in little damages and thankfully zero injuries.
The driver of the civilian car was David Taylor, who stated in a police report that his 2003 Ford Explorer had brake problems and was not able to pull the emergency brake in time to prevent the accident. After a quick investigation there was no visible evidence that Taylor was fibbing and he was not charged with a moving violation.
Kittanning Hose Company #1 firefighters arrived to the scene moments later to directed traffic temporarily and also block off the lanes crossing the bridge until crossing to meet with police. Absorbent was also used on South Water Street to absorb wreckage fluid, but firefighters were able to leave the scene safely about 4:45PM.
