The highly anticipated Ron Howard blockbuster “Rush” has brake enthusiasts raving due to a partnership between Howard and Brembo brakes. “Rush” is based on the 1976 Formula One racing rivalry between two great racers, James Hunt and Niki Lauda and even incorporates the same model cars that were used during the original race.
This film is especially significant for Brembo because it tells the story of Lauda’s Ferrari that had Brembo brakes on it during the race.
The movie “Rush” depicts the F1 race ambiance in 1976 and even includes Brembo’s original racing logo and colors of the era, featured at the German Grand Prix in Nürbugring, Monza.
In 1976, Lauda’s cars were the only ones equipped with Brembo brakes. At that time, the company generated sales of less than $1.5 million and had a mere 146 employees.
