I am kind of on the fence about this product. Brake fade and failure can be caused by two things, overheated pads and brake fluid. The Fade Stop Brake Cooler (FSBC) is a “drop-in” part that conducts heat from the caliper to a heat sink located externally to the brake caliper through a high thermal conductivity dual metal composite developed by Four Products LLC specifically for the high temperatures found in a high performance brake system.
The applications for the Brake Cooler are limited to opposing piston calipers where the bridge is open. Also, if the clearance is tight between the caliper and wheel they will not fit.
The cooler in my opinion should only be used for racing and off-road applications. First, the fins at the top of the pad could blocked or damaged by road debris and prevent the pads from being applied. Second, these fins could act as a speaker to magnify brake noise.
It is a neat idea with some data to back up the claims.
