Current Thai legislature bars buses and large trucks from crossing Phuket’s most infamous hill from 6am to 9am and 4pm to 7pm every day due to a high number of casualties resulting from deadly crashes that take place on the hill apparently during those hours.
Although this is Thai law, some buses choose to ignore the mandate and continue to bring travelers down the deadly hill anyway.
Just last Wednesday, a tour bus carrying 50 passengers and was traveling during restricted hours, lost its braking power and plunged down the deadly decline.
The bus was said to have completely destroyed a police checkpoint and seriously damaged a retaining wall of a local religious temple.
Local police have reported three injuries thus far, and owners of the busing have vowed to compensate for the damage done during the crash.
So far there have been no arrests or followup information regarding the crash.
