Brake Failure: Transit Bus Leaves One To Bite The Dust

Regina,Ca- A pedestrian was killed yesterday in California after a local transit bus experienced partial brake failure and slammed into a nearby sign post, which then fell over and struck the woman in the head, resulting in a fatal brain trauma.

According to the report, the bus failed to slow down at a stop and veered to the right because the left rear brake was not operational. The driver was also reported to be well-rested at the time and had no medical issues.

This tragic event has resulted in controversy after Saskatchewan Government Insurance records were surfaced, revealing that ongoing maintenance issues, (including mechanical and structural defects) have been affecting Regina transit buses as far back as 2010.

Even the city coroner was in disbelief after this tragic story. He was quoted stating “The city should commission an independent audit to review practices and procedures related to the preventative maintenance of city transit buses, as well as driver training.”

Currently, the deputy city manager Brent Sjoberg is backing the coroners recommendation and is also vowing to implement new procedures and practices to prevent anything like this from happening again.
